KCIS hosted 12th Inter School Music Competition – Sur Sangam 2017

Music is the pleasant sound that leads us to experience harmony and higher happiness. It connects us with real self ie; soul. To expose the children to music, KCIS hosted 12th Inter-school music competitionSurSangam on 23rd December 2017 in which around ten reputed schools of Jammu participated.Mr. Rajinder Gupta SSP Airport Authority of India was the Chief Guest of the occasion and Dr. UshaKherDySP Anti- hijacking, Airport Authority Jammu was the Guest of Honour.

Among the judges were Mr. DharmeshNargotra- noted Gazal singer and Mr. JagdeepSingh- Retd. Programme executive Doordarshan, Jammu and Mr. VirenderKapadia- Senior vocalist, song and drama division. The categories for the competition were junior category, senior category and solo. The programme started with the lighting of lamp followed by a welcome dance. The hall was filled with children, brimming with enthusiasm and eagerness to showcase their talent. The students were well prepared for the competition. The judges appreciated musical tone and texture of the students. The nuances of the music were also well followed by them.

The musical day concluded with the vote of thanks by the Principal, Mr.SubendhuSarkar landing the efforts put in by the staff and students of different school in making this event a grand success. He also appreciated the efforts of music teacher- Ms. MamtaKalotra, Mr. Michael. The event was organized by Mrs. RajniMalhotra , Activity Coordinator.
