Jammu chapter of Vox Populi was witnessed by 13 schools of J&K on 27th and 28th April, 2018 at Jodhamal Public School, where almost 380 students from the different schools of the region participated. The main aim of organizing this event was to provide a platform to the students to voice their views on the liable topics. Principal of Jodhamal Public School, Trilok Singh Bist told the dignitaries that Vox Populi- the common man’s voice is the biggest debating phenomenon, which has travelled to almost 25 states by now.
On the first day of VoxPopuliMrSimrandeep Singh, Chairman of SSBwas the Chief Guest who appreciated the unconventional format of the debate by stating that such debates will expand the horizon of the students and teachers equally.MrsRohiniAima, Principal cum Vice Chairperson Jammu Sanskriti School andMr TR Ramesh, Principal of Banyan International school were the Guests of Honor.MrNandanKuthiala was the Presiding Officer for the opening ceremony. Whereas on the second day of the event the key speaker was MrSubhenduSarkar, Principal of KC International School who chaired the debating teams.
ShreyanshBhalotia,a young and dynamic scholar from VIT and also the president and founder of the Vox-Populi- Indian Chaopter declared the Debate open with his address on 27th April, 2018. He gave a pep talk on the tips for debating. His C-Theory - confidence, convince, confusion, courage, clarity, coherency boosted the delegates to be at their best.
All the participants from KC International School proceeded from qualifying to the final rounds of all the debating as well as journalism categories with their sublime and mesmerising performances. The final rounds were eventuated on 28th April, 2018 where 12 children from KC International School won prices in different categories.
Harsh Dubey was declared the best speaker in National Debate.Ridhima Raina was promulgated the Best Speaker in senior debate-The Rising Intelligentsia. SamridhiChouhan was announced as the Best Speaker in Ideology Matters. Malvika Jain was broadcasted as Most Promising Speaker in the category- Opinion Shastra. AsmiAbrol was trumpeted as Best Speaker in Unite for the World category. Harsh Suri was declared as the Best Parliamentarian.
The award for the Best Idea in Financial Symposium was also bagged by the team of KC International School, which comprised of-Coral Sharma, BipashaRaina, SanyaMahajan and Danushi Sharma. Their idea was immensely liked by the jury. In the junior category DhritiKotwalclinched the trophy of Most Promising Speaker in the debating category The Responsibility.
Contemplating the performances of young debaters, judges could not impede themselves from giving away the trophy of ‘Best Small Delegation’ to the brilliant and coruscating Kcites.
