To begin the auspicious beginning of a collaboration of KC International with SPIC-MACAY the lighting of the lamp was done by the dignitaries Mrs. Saroj Mahajan, Senior Vice Chair Person, Principal Mrs. Maya Mishra and the performing artists. This was followed by a warm welcome through floral bouquets.

Padmshri Geeta Chandran performed three different dances. She began with a performance on Mirabai’s hymns. Then she explained the symbolism of Natraja to the children and then she performed tandav. This enthralled the audience especially the students present on the occasion. In the question and answer session which followed, the students asked different questions related to dance and dance forms and she answered every question enthusiastically satisfying the quench of the students. The highlight was also the performance of Radhika her disciple who rose to the occasion when students questioned whether it was only the professionals who could dance so well.

To conclude she called some children on the stage and taught them some of the basics. This part of the lecture demonstration was very important because a few students got to share the stage with the maestro herself.

A Heritage Club was launched on the occasion at the hands of Mrs. Saroj Mahajan, a patron of arts, herself, Principal, Mrs Maya Mishhra, Padmshri Geeta Chandran and Mrs. Kesar Patel, Headmistress, KCIS.

Speaking at the occasion, Mrs. Maya Mishra stated that it was a learning experience for everyone present in the auditorium.
