Central Board of Secondary Education had nominated KCIS as one of the City Coordinator (coordinating centre) to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October 2014 as Rashtriya Ekta Divas (National Unity Day). This event was organized to convey the message of Unity & Integrity, Safety and Security to all.
Ms Kanchan Bala, KAS, Deputy Director Sports was the Chief Guest. A special assembly was organized by KCIS in which talk was presented to highlight the life of great leader, his work and values towards nation. Drama club was also presented the nukkar natak related to present scenario and ended up with the message that we should plant trees and make our world clean and secure from all sort of pollutions. Inter House debate was also conducted, the topic of the debate was “Nuclear power is essential for the security of any Nation or not”. A special talk highlighted the efforts put in by the ‘Iron Man of India’ - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The students wrote slogans on the theme of Safety and security to spread the message of security of the Nation. Similarly painting and collage making was organized on diverse themes ranging from Patriotism, Unity, Safe Environment etc. Many students also participated in jingle writing and slogan writing. A documentary on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also shown to the students. The Chief Guest Ms Kiran Bala and the Coordinators Mr. Rakesh Sharma and Mrs. Kesar Patel judged the event.
Ms Kiran Bala flaged off the run for unity in which number of schools participated like K.C. International School, G.D.Goenka Public School, Heritage School, Army Public School, Domana, J K Public School, Kunjwani, Jammu etc. The Principal Dr. Ravi Bhushan also appreciated the CBSE for conducting such events and also said that these kind of activities will enhance the awareness about our great leaders and events of the past. The chief Guest also appreciated that these kind of human activities and joint effort will produce safe, secure and confident ambassadors for society.
