Cherishing Childhood at KCIS

‘Cherishing Childhood’ a project was organized by the students and teachers of KC International School, Jammu on October 15, 2014. The project revolved around exploring different ways to cherish childhood. It was also an awareness programme against child labour. The students researched about various facts related to child labour seen in India, United Kingdom and Sri Lanka. The astonishing fact that UK despite being much progressive also suffered from this problem came to the forefront. The children recited different poems written by the poets who are natives to the three countries. The students also expressed their views on how to present child labour and encourage the children to take up education for a better future.

Vice Chairman, Mr. Chaitanya Choudhary was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Dr. Ravi Bhushan stated that children should have seasoned memories of their childhood. He stated that children look good when they are smiling so we adults must make an effort to preserve the smile on their faces. The Principal congratulated Mr. Kailash Satyarthi for Nobel Peace Prize 2014 whose work is also attached with children and cherishing childhood. He told that we all Indian are feeling proud. The project was undertaken under the International School Award by Ms. Deepali Manchanda. The coordinator for the programme is Mrs. Kesar Patel.
