Walk for Health initiated at KCIS

KC international School hosted world walking Day on 10th Oct 2014 at its sports ground. KCIS hosted this walkathon for the first time in its campus. Walking is considered very healthy for all. ‘Walkathon’ was very successful as it was organized in different categories. Different people took part in different categories. The events included a ladies event, family event, male group event, etc. The Principal, Dr. Ravi Bhushan inaugurated the first session and felicitated the winners. Different sessions were conducted for different age groups, speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Dr. Bhushan said that every individual must take up walking to ensure good health. He stated that brisk walking prevents and cures many diseases. It is an immunization shield which each individual can possess and ensures good health for oneself. Besides physical benefits regular walking improves concentration, memory as well as reduces stress. He stressed upon changing the life style and encouraged people to walk as it increases stamina, lowers cholesterol levels and improves the bone health. Certificates were distributed to the winners. Demonstration in ‘Rope Skipping’ and Aerobics were also going on simultaneously to create awareness for Physical exercises among the walking enthusiastic who had gathered. People showed keen interest and participated enthusiastically in the various walking sessions.

The event was organized in collaboration with Confederation of development for Sorts and Culture affiliated by TAFISA.
