On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, K.C.International School, Jammu especially stressed on imbibing the Gandhian values and philosophy among the children. The Programme of Gandhi Jayanti started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Principal Dr. Ravi Bhushan and the Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Dhar. The school choir along with music teacher Ms Mamta Kalotra then rendered the soul stirring bhajans which were the favourites of Mahatma Gandhi.

Some important features from the biography of Mahatma Gandhi were told to the students. The importance of cleanliness and shramdaan was also stressed upon. The quiz was organized on the life of the father of the Nation in which students participated enthusiastically and answering to grab the prizes for right answers. The poem was also recited by the student of class IV on Cleanliness and Gandhiji.

A Signature Campaign which was a commitment towards peace, & non-violence and cleanliness and sanitation by Kcites was also started. Prize distribution for the winners and participants for Inter School Taekwondo and Volleyball was also done. The Principal appreciated the efforts of the coaches.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Dhar said that Gandhiji could make a difference in the world as he remained focus although his life. He believed in simple living and high thinking. He urged the students to do the same.

Vote of thanks was given by the Principal Dr. Ravi Bhushan. He said that non-violence was propagated as “Satyagrah” by Gandhiji. He stated certain personality traits from Gandhiji’s life and urged the students to imbibe them in their lives for a better future.
