K.C.International School, Jammu launched the Clean School, Clean India Campaign on September 25, 2014. The campaign was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Ravi Bhushan in the special assembly. The students stressed upon cleanliness and its importance. An awareness campaign was also launched among the students wherein they were told and educated about not to litter the school campus, classrooms and how to maintain proper cleanliness & hygiene.

The Campaign will continue till October 31, 2014, various activities will be conducted during the entire month. Orientation programme to spread awareness about cleanliness will also be conducted. Documentaries and videos about the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi will also be shown to the students.

The students recited a poem on cleanliness and personal hygiene. The school choir presented the soulful “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”. A child dressed up Gandhi Ji, entered the stage along with his followers. He urged the Principal, Dr. Ravi Bhushan to launch the campaign.

Later on the Principal Dr. Ravi Bhushan, teachers and students participated in cleaning drive by picking up rotten leaves and brooming playground to remove the garbage. The Principal said every week the best cleaned class/section will be identified and rewarded.

The ‘Red”,”Green”, and “Yellow” dustbins were also placed on the stage to emphasize on throwing the litter in biodegradable, non-biodegradable and recycle bins respectively. Then students and teachers took pledge for keeping the school clean. Among the chanting of “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”, the students formed a human chain pledging their support for the cause.
